My Story

Not everyone is afforded the same access to emotional health resources, but I believe that everyone should have the opportunity and tools to walk in emotional health and wholeness, and to become the fulfilled person they were created to be.

to help others become more free to be who they were created to be.

No matter our age, life stage, background, or circumstances, we are worthy of a life of deep meaning and beauty. Emotional healing can often be a long, challenging, and uncomfortable process, but I believe this sacred journey is worth taking. I look forward to walking it beside you.

This healing journey, and the freedom I began to find, is the reason why I became a Therapist. I realized that if I could do just one thing with my life, it would be to help others become more free to be who they were created to be.

All these years later, I do just that. I work as an individual and couples therapist, and I specialize in strengthening our connection to ourselves and others, working with people to bring healing to their own lives and relationships. Since my journey was filled with so much secrecy and shame, I’m committed to speaking openly about mental health, inviting others to bravely overcome their struggles and find their true worth.

I wrestled with anxiety throughout my teenage and young adult years. My struggle could be traced to certain events in my life, but it was slowly eroding my sense of being and well being. I felt emotionally stuck and unable to become the person I was made to be.

I looked to the church for guidance, but unfortunately, the churches I attended were not equipped to offer the kind of help I needed, and I often felt more alone and confused. Finally, I started working with a professional therapist, and it transformed my life. Therapy gave me the healing tools and confidence I needed to move forward.  As I implemented what I learned, I was able to overcome so many of the internal obstacles I had been navigating for years.

Becoming a mother added another layer of depth and meaning to my journey, and it solidified my commitment and belief in the healing process. I can now see firsthand how much our emotional health impacts our children, and I see why it’s so important that parents make this lifelong healing process a priority as we influence and shape the next generation.

My deep belief in the love and goodness of God is what most drives my work. For me this is more than a job, it is a calling. Through all my counseling, writing, and speaking work, it’s my goal to invite others to the authentic connection that leads to hope and transformation. There is power and healing in sharing our stories and naming our hurts and brokenness. It is never too late to become more free, to become more yourself.
